A single aloe vera plant yields up to 3.5 kg of leaves and costs between 5 to 6 rupees per kg.  However, on an average, a single leaf of the plant is sold for up to Rs 18. By investing at least 40 thousand rupees, a farmer can earn up to two and a half lakh rupees.  That means a total profit of 5 times can be obtained from aloe vera cultivation.
