Whatsapp Confirms New Picture In Picture (PIP) Mode Feature

Picture In Picture (PIP) Mode: New features are constantly being added to the popular messaging platform Whatsapp and every new feature is tested in the beta version before being included in the app. But not every feature included in the beta version is necessarily included in the app. Now WhatsApp has confirmed a new feature.

Whatsapp Confirms New Picture In Picture (PIP) Mode Feature

WhatsApp has confirmed on a blog site that soon Apple iPhone users will start getting the benefit of picture-in-picture mode. With this feature, the phone can be operated during video calls and the video will be visible in a small window to the people involved in the call.

Picture In Picture (PIP) Mode Feature

When will users get the new PIP mode?

The app owned by Meta wrote in a blog - Picture-in-picture mode in iOS: Now in beta testing and will be rolled out in 2023. Multitasking during a call can be easier with the minimized in-call video screen. Currently, minimizing the app during a video call stops the video from showing.

How the PIP mode feature will work?

WABetainfo, a platform that reports on WhatsApp updates, said that WhatsApp's picture-in-picture mode will work in the same way as it does for apps like Facebook and YouTube. Videos played on these apps can be seen in a floating window on a part of the screen and now the same will happen during WhatsApp video calls.

That is, on the screen, you are accessing any app, the WhatsApp video call will continue to play in the floating window and your video will not be disabled for the rest. Such an option is currently offered in mobile apps like Microsoft Teams.

WhatsApp, the messaging app owned by Meta, will soon get a new feature for users, with which they will be able to use other apps on the phone even during video calls. This feature will be rolled out next year.

ISRO Chandrayaan 2 Mission: Latest updates

Chandrayaan-2  is India's second lunar exploration mission after Chandrayaan-1.

Developed by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), the mission is planned to be launched to the Moon by a Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle Mark III (GSLV Mk III). It includes a lunar orbiter, lander and rover, all developed indigenously.

Chandrayaan-2 will attempt a soft landing of a lander and rover in a high plain between two craters, Manzinus C and Simpelius N, at a latitude of about 70° south. The wheeled rover will move on the lunar surface and will perform on-site chemical analysis. It can relay data to Earth through the Chandrayaan-2 orbiter and lander, which will fly on the same launch.

PUBG Lite is a free version of PUBG for gamers who play on the PCs. At the moment, PUBG's mobile version is available for free to download and play on the smartphones, and is available on both the Google Play Store and Apple's App Store. PUBG Lite was already available in few countries and now it is set to make its way to India. An additional Hindi language option will also be made available.
In addition to India, PUBG Lite beta will also get off the ground on the same date in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. Although the release list is big, not all of them are getting the advantage of pre-downloading the game today.

Earlier, PUBG confirmed through its official Facebook page that the game's Lite version is coming to India.  "We are thrilled to announce that PUBG LITE will soon be expanding to India!" the official page of PUBG LITE stated.

"We are very pleased to be able to introduce PUBG LITE to users all over the world. We have a lot of passionate PUBG players in South Asia, so it represents an important area of focus for us," Brady Choi, VP and Head of PUBG LITE at PUBG Corporation said in a statement.

Pre-download is opened for the regions listed below:

- Afghanistan

- Bhutan

- India

- Maldives

- Nepal

- Pakistan

- Sri Lanka

PUBG Lite is a toned down version of the original PC version. It is compatible with lower-end PCs and laptops, so you don’t need a dedicated GPU to get the best experience as an integrated one should be enough to run the game smoothly.

Minimum System Requirements:

-OS: Windows 7,8,10 64Bit

-CPU: Core i3 @2.4Ghz

-RAM: 4GB

-GPU: Intel HD 4000

-HDD: 4GB

Recommended System Requirements

-OS: Windows 7,8,10 64Bit

-CPU: Core i5 @2.8Ghz

-RAM: 8GB

-GPU: Nvidia GTX 660 or AMD Radeon HD 7870

-HDD: 4GB

A free to play PUBG with lower system requirements

The developers behind PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds have announced a dedicated team has been working on PUBG Lite in secret. PUBG Lite will be a shrunken down version of the PC game designed to run on older GPUs or even integrated graphics, and it will be available completely free. There’s no release schedule yet, but the beta is already available in Thailand and is coming to other regions soon.
PUBG Lite is cut down in the ways you’d expect, at least for now. The two largest differences are that it only has PUBG’s original map, Erangel, and that first person is unavailable. The developers have said that it still features solo, duo and squad modes, but that feature modes might be added later. While many MacBooks meet the system requirements, it currently does not support macOS.

The minimum requirements for the original PUBG calls for a mid-tier quad core CPU, 8GB of RAM and a GTX 960, but those specs can’t quite run the game at 60 fps on very low. Up until now, the only option budget gamers have had is to run the free PUBG mobile app on an Android emulator, which is about as bad as it sounds.

The minimum specs for PUBG Lite is a Core i3 that runs at least 2.4Ghz, with 4GB of RAM and Intel HD 4000 integrated graphics. The recommended spec is a Core i5 that runs at least 2.8Ghz, 8GB of RAM and a GTX 660 or Radeon HD 7870. If you happen to know your Fortnite trivia, you may have realized that the world’s most popular battle royale has the exact same requirements.

Comparing the recommended and minimum specs of the two PUBG games, it seems that PUBG Lite picks up about where PUBG becomes unplayable. For anything less powerful than a GTX 970 or GTX 1060 it makes sense to choose PUBG Lite, as the higher frame rates will make for a more pleasant experience, despite some visual compromises.

Speaking of visual compromises, PUBG Lite only takes up 4GB of storage, compared to PUBG’s 30GB. While there are fewer maps, that’s still a potentially large shrink in texture file size.

The Intel i5-4430 that PUBG says is the bare minimum for the full PUBG scored 479 points in Cinebench, way back in 2015 when we tested it. While I don’t have an old i3 that PUBG Corp says is the minimum for Lite, locking my own system down to 2 cores 4 threads at 2.4Ghz brings down the Cinebench score to 270 points (56%), and that’s with modern IPC and RAM.

On the GPU side, the recommended GTX 660 is about 40% as powerful in 3DMark as the GTX 960 PUBG recommends as a minimum. Integrated graphics is around 5-10% depending on how modern it is. Either PUBG Corp has worked miracles to optimize the game, the visual quality has been completely ruined, or they’re being overly optimistic with the specs to draw players away from Fortnite.

Games with such low system requirements that still manage to look good usually use cartoon-style graphics, like Fortnite or Overwatch, or very basic geometry like CS:GO. Could PUBG Lite be successful using either of those? The obvious real goal of PUBG Lite is to poach the free-to-play everyone-can-play business strategy from Fortnite, but add the realism and feel that made the Battle Royale genre so popular in the first place.
