JoSAA Counselling Schedule 2019 Released: Choice Filling from 10 am today on josaa.nic.in, important points

JoSAA Counselling Schedule has been released on josaa.nic.in. Choice Filling would commence from today, June 16 on the official website. Important instructions for candidates and complete schedule here.


Joint Seat Allocation Authority, JoSAA Counselling 2019 registration would begin from today, June 16. Candidates who have qualified JEE Advanced 2019 and JEE Main 2019 are required to register online on josaa.nic.in. The window would open from 10 am, as per the counselling schedule released by JoSAA. For the candidates who would be appearing for the AAT 2019 tomorrow, the choice filling would commence from June 21, after the AAT results are announced. Important instructions are provided below.
JoSAA 2019 regulates and manages the admission to 107 institutions for various engineering and related courses. The counselling would be conducted for 23 IITs,  31 NITs, 25 IIITs and 28 Other-Government Funded Technical Institutes (Other-GFTIs).  Students who have appeared for and qualified JEE Main 2019 and JEE Advanced 2019 are required to register and fill their choices.Check complete JoSAA Counselling Schedule 2019 here.
Important Instructions regarding JoSAA Registration 2019:


1.      JoSAA would be conducting counselling for all IITs, NITs and other GFTIs. Candidates are required to fill their choices on josaa.nic.in from today. Direct link to the official website is provided here. the choice filling would commence from June 16, 10 am which is today. Last date to fill choices and register for counselling is June 21 by 5 pm.
2.      Candidates who have appeared for JEE Main 2019 are required to fill the choices for NIT+ system and are not eligible for IITs. Only the candidates who have qualified JEE Advanced 2019 are eligible for IITs, IISc. Candidates who have qualified the JEE Advanced are also eligible for all the other participating institutes. 3.      Based on their eligibility, candidates can register on josaa.nic.in and fill in their choices of the institutes and branches in decreading order of preference. Choices would be picked accordingly hence candidates must carefully weigh in their choices before filling the same.
4.      After filling the choices, candidates are also required to LOCK their choices. If the choices are not locked before the last time, which is 5 pm on June 21, the last saved choiced would be automatically locked.  Remember, once locked, choices CANNOT be modified. Hence be very careful. 
5.      JoSAA would be conducting a total of 7 rounds of counselling and seat allocation. Students may check the complete schedule provided above. The first display of Mock Seat Allocation of Round 1 would be done on June 22 and for Round 2 on June 24. Seat Allocation Round 1 would begin on June 27 at 10 am. 
6.      For accepting a seat, candidates must pay for the seat acceptance fee through the allowed modes of payment for the seat allotted. Once the seat is paid for, candidates must get their documents verified at any of the reporting centres. The list sof reporting centres is also available on josaa.nic.in. 
7.      Depending on the satisfaction with the seat allotted, the candidates must fill the option of freeze, slide or float. Depending on the options filled, candidates would be able to participate in the subsequent rounds of counselling. 
8.      IMPORTANT - If in a subsequent round, say Round 4 or 5 the candidate is able to secure a seat in IIT and wishes to forego the seat at NIT+, then he/she is require to once again report to the respective IIT Reporting centre. Simillarly, if a student shifts from an IIT to any NIT+ institute in a subsequent round, he/she must report to the respective institution again. 
9.      Candidates also have an option to withdraw the seat which has already been accepted by reporting to a reporting centre upto 6th round of seat allocation. After that, if the candidate fails to join the institution, he or she would not be eligible for the seat nor eligible to apply for JEE Advanced 2020. 
Important things to Remember: Candidates who do NOT register within the specified time window WILL NOT be able to seek admission for this academic year. Candidates who do NOT fill-in choices within the specified time window WILL NOT be able to seek admission for this academic year. Two times reporting required in case of seat allotment changes from NIT+s system to IITs and vice versa. No modification of locked choices – once locked, choices CANNOT be modified.
