The third season of the much awaited Bigg Boss Tamil will kick off tonight

The third season of the much awaited Bigg Boss Tamil will kick off tonight. The first two seasons of the Tamil version of popular reality show was hosted by actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan and he will host the season three too.

The first season of Bigg Boss Tamil, which also marked the debut of Kamal Haasan on television, had 15 contestants and four more celebs got wild-card entries. In the second season, 16 people entered the house and only one contestant was given wild-card entry.

The much awaited Bigg Boss Tamil season 3 has kicked off on a high note. Hosted by actor-politician Kamal Haasan, the controversial reality TV show featured contestants selected across film, television and music industry. The latest promos of the show have left the audience impressed and there's much buzz around the premiere night (June 23). 

The episode featured some surprise entries, a tour of Bigg Boss house by host Kamal Haasan, some exceptional performances by the contestants and some heartwarming moments as well. Jangiri Madhumitha, actor-musician Mohan Vaidya, actor Fathima Babu, Nerkonda Paarvai fame Abhirami Venkatachalam, Alya Manasa, Malaysian actor and musician Mugen Rao, Saravanan Meenakshi fame Kavin, Srilanka model Losilya, actor Sarvanan, dance master Sandy, Reshma Pasupuleti, and actress Sherin have entered the show. There are two more wild card entries which will be announced later. 

The show stands out with unique and spectacular design of the house in which the 15 contestants will stay for 100 days. From the stunning interior designs with the Chettinadu architecture to the jail where the contestants will be punished during the tasks, the Bigg Boss house is exquisite and well equipped. Bigg Boss is based on Big Brother, which was originally a Dutch show and has been adapted in many countries around the world.

The shooting of the inaugural episode of Bigg Boss Tamil 3 was kick-started on Friday and continued till Saturday evening. The show, which will be aired for the next 100 days, is expected to have a runtime of 60 minutes during the weekdays and 90 minutes during the weekends.

The contestants of Bigg Boss Tamil 3 will be locked inside the house for the 100 days. Every week there will be elimination based on the viewers' votes, but there are exceptions.

Last year, the winner of Bigg Boss Season 2 Tamil, Riythvika, took home Rs 50 lakh in prize money, while Aarav won in the first season of the show.
