Recently, global FMCG giant Unilever plc has recalled some popular brands of dry shampoo from the market.  The reason is that it had benzene related contamination.  It should be noted here that benzene can cause cancer.

According to the report, products manufactured before October 2021 are mainly recalled.  But following this step, questions have been raised about the safety of aerosol in personal hygiene products.

Dry shampoo brands that Unilever has recalled include Dove and Tresseme dry shampoo.  Apart from this, other brands whose dry shampoos have been recalled include Nexus, Suave and Tigina.  According to a notice posted on the website of the US Food and Drug Administration, it is Rockaholic and Bed Head dry shampoo.
