Petrol,
diesel prices unchanged on Monday. Check today’s rates in top cities

controlled oil marketing companies kept the retail prices of petrol and diesel
stagnant major cities of the country on Monday (June 17). In national capital
Delhi, petrol is being sold for Rs 69.93 per litre while diesel costs Rs 63.84
a litre, no change compared with yesterday’s price.
It is worth noting that the pump prices of petrol and diesel are the cheapest in the Capital among all metros and most state capitals due to lower taxes.

Similarly, in Mumbai, petrol and diesel are selling for Rs 75.63 a litre and Rs 66.93 per litre, no change in rates against Sunday’s rates.
People in Chennai have to pay Rs 72.64 for a litre of petrol while diesel retailed at Rs 67.52 per litre. In Gurugram, petrol price remained static at Rs 70.46 and diesel price at Rs 63.42. In Noida, petrol, diesel prices remain unchanged at Rs 69.94 and Rs 63.32 per litre respectively.

Worth mentioning here is that the retail fuel prices have been on a decline since May 29. On Sunday, the retail prices of petrol were lowered by 6-7 paise per litre while diesel became cheaper by 9-10 paise.
As per the country’s daily
pricing mechanism, the fuel prices are dependent on the global crude prices and
the rupee-US dollar exchange rate as India imports 80 per cent of its crude
requirements.
On Monday, in the international oil market, crude prices went up the US said it will take all actions required to guarantee safe navigation in the Middle East, as tensions increased after attacks on oil tankers last week. International Brent crude futures were at trading USD 62.28 per barrel, up 27 cents, or 0.4 per cent, from their last close.
