soon; Features, engine, price
The
off-road SUV will also get a panoramic sunroof, a touchscreen infotainment
system with an 8.4-inch display and leather-wrapped steering wheel
Jeep
India's Compass Trailhawk is scheduled for launch in India on July 2019. The
Trailhawk's launch will be an additional variant to the Compass' diesel
automatic range, which was launched in July 2017. While the Jeep India hasn't
officially started accepting Trailhawk bookings in the country, some
dealerships are already open for orders for the off-road Jeep SUV.
Jeep
Compass Trailhawk will be available with multiple features like Active Drive
Low 4x4 system, hill descent control, a rear locking differential, and an
additional Selec-Terrain system. The SUV will also get a major visual overhaul
with changes like new decals, red tow hooks, larger alloy wheels, black accents
on the grille and 'Trail-Rated' badging.
Jeep
Compass Trailhawk SUV has been launched in India at ₹26.8 lakh (ex-showroom,
India). At this price, the Compass
Trailhawk commands a premium of ₹3.69 lakh over the Compass
Limited Plus 4X4 i.e. the top-end trim of the standard Jeep Compass. Jeep had
started accepting bookings for the Trailhawk two weeks ago and the SUV's
deliveries are expected to commence in the first week of July.
Jeep
Compass Trailhawk, the off-road oriented variant of the Compass compact SUV,
was showcased in India earlier this month. As compared to the standard Jeep
Compass, the Trailhawk gets a variety of additions -- to the exterior and
interior of the vehicle as well as its mechanical bits.
For
starters, the Jeep Compass Trailhawk SUV gets a 'Trail Rated' badge on the
fenders, decals on the bonnet, black front grille, and redesigned front and
rear bumpers which improve the approach and departure angles, respectively.
Apart from this, the Compass Trailhawk gets 30 mm higher ground clearance than
its sibling to take over uncharted terrains.
Further complementing its
off-roading character is the company's Active Drive Low 4X4 system with rear
axle disconnect in combination with Jeep Selec-Terrain system that allows the
driver to choose from five driving modes-- Auto,Snow, Sand, Mud, and Rock.
Besides this, the compact off-roader comes with hill hold control and hill
descent control, and gets frequency damped suspension setup.
The list of Jeep Compass Trailhawk's
features include an 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Jeep's
Uconnect interface for Bluetooth connectivity and voice commands. Other
features on the Compass Trailhawk include panoramic sunroof, cruise control,
automatic rain sensing wipers, dual zone climate control and engine start/stop
button.
The Jeep Compass Trailhawk
is propelled by a BSVI-compliant 2.0-litre diesel engine that puts out 170.63
bhp and 350 Nm of torque. This diesel engine is paired with a nine-speed
automatic gearbox, making it the first offering in Compass' line-up to get
automatic transmission in combination with a diesel engine. Jeep India ahs also
noted that the Jeep Compass Trailhawk is 6 per cent more fuel-efficient than
the regular Compass.
